What is Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills?
For 36 hours on April 26-27, 2022, Connecticut Community Foundation will host Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills for the tenth consecutive year. It’s an online occasion. Thousands of donors will contribute to hundreds of participating local nonprofit organizations at www.GiveLocalCCF.org. Since its creation in 2013, Give Local has raised more than $11 million thanks to generous donors, area businesses and organizations united in giving to make our communities in Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills stronger. Is OLLI at UConn participating?
Yes! OLLI at UConn has been a proud Give Local participant since 2015.
How does Give Local work?
Beginning at 7 a.m. April 26 and ending at 7 p.m. April 27, donors are able to make secure contributions at www.GiveLocalCCF.org to their favorite participating local nonprofit organizations. The minimum donation is $10 and there is no maximum.
OLLI already does its own fundraising. Why is OLLI participating in Give Local?
Give Local is a great opportunity to:
- Raise awareness about OLLI
- Engage existing donors and reach new ones
- Enhance every dollar donated with bonus funds
- Expand our online and social media presence and fundraising success!
How can I help make the online giving challenge a success for our OLLI at UConn community?
- Become a fundraising ambassador! Commit to sharing our Give Local participation among your friends and family. It’s so easy. OLLI will provide you with graphics for your Facebook and email, and even give you step-by-step guides and templates of what to write on your Facebook posts and emails, and when to send them. Please contact osher@uconn.edu to find out more.
- And of course, please make a donation to OLLI on the Give Local website on April 26th or 27th.

Is there anything else I should know?
Yes! There are great bonuses and prizes for all organizations that raise money during Give Local. These bonus dollars and gifts are provided by the Connecticut Community Foundation and its generous sponsors.
How do bonus dollars work?
Bonus dollars are paid out based on the number of individual donors that contribute to an organization during the event i.e. the more donors we secure, the more bonus funds we will receive.
How do prizes work?
Throughout Give Local, we can compete for cash prizes. Some prizes are competitive, while others are awarded randomly. The complete list of prizes will be posted soon.
Can I still donate to OLLI directly?
Yes, of course, but we ask that if you plan to give to OLLI in April, please give during the Give Local 36-hour event to give us more of a chance to win additional bonuses and prizes.
